Indonesia’s agricultural gross income (GDP) has increased sharply in the last five years. Indonesia’s agricultural GDP currently ranks as the fifth position in the world. Agricultural development has contributed to promoting Indonesia’s economic growth both in the short and long term.

“Agricultural GDP has increased from Rp. 994 trillion to Rp. 1,462 trillion. This is remarkable, this is almost evenly distributed in every sector,” Amran said at the Ministry of Agriculture’s Central Office, Ragunan Region, South Jakarta, Friday (10/5).

According to him, the jump in Agricultural GDP that has been validated and signed by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is an extraordinary achievement. Standard Chartered also predicts that Indonesia’s GDP will reach US $ 10 trillion by 2030. And this will put this nation in 4th rank as the country with the world’s largest economy.

“This extraordinary four-year achievement on our country’s food, jumped over 12 major countries such as Germany, China and other major countries,” Amran explained.

He added, this optimistic prediction could not be separated from the role of development sector pertaian which continued to be carried out by the Working Cabinet of the Government of Joko Widodo during his last four years in power. The work of the Indonesian agricultural sector, he continued, also received appreciation from the FAO Food and Agriculture Organization under the auspices of the United Nations (UN).

Pendapatan Domestik Bruto (PDB) pertanian Indonesia meningkat tajam dalam lima tahun terakhir. PDB pertanian Indonesia saat ini menempati posisi lima dunia. Pembangunan pertanian terbukti telah ikut andil dalam mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia baik dalam jangka pendek maupun panjang.

“PDB Pertanian itu naik dari Rp 994 triliun menjadi Rp 1.462 triliun. Itu luar biasa, ini hampir merata di setiap sektornya,” kata Amran di kantor Pusat Kementerian Pertanian, Kawasan Ragunan, Jakarta Selatan, Jumat (10/5).

Menurutnya, lompatan PDB Pertanian yang sudah divalidasi dan ditandatangani oleh Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) ini merupakan suatu capaian luar biasa. Standard Chartered juga memprediksi, PDB Indonesia akan mencapai US$ 10 triliun pada 2030. Dan menempatkan bangsa ini di peringkat ke-4 sebagai negara dengan perekonomian terbesar dunia.

“Pencapaian luar biasa empat tahun ini soal pangan negara kita, melompati 12 negara besar seperti negara Jerman, China, dan negara besar lainya,” jelas Amran. 

Ia menambahkan, prediksi optimistis ini tak lepas dari peran pembangunan sektor pertaian yang terus dilakukan Kabinet Kerja Pemerintahan Joko Widodo selama berkuasa empat tahun lebih terakhir ini. Hasil kerja sektor pertanian Indonesia, lanjutnya, juga mendapat apresiasi dari Organisasi Pangan dan Pertanian FAO yang berada di bawah naungan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB).
