JAKARTA – The palm oil industry began to rise from the downturn due to the low global CPO prices that reached the lowest average price since August 2006. Global CPO prices began to rise up, it is recorded that global CPO prices in January 2019 moved between US $ 520 – 542.50 / ton at an average price US $ 530.7 / ton.

Previously in December 2018, global CPO prices was in the range of US $ 470 – 507.50 / ton with an average price of US $ 490.5 / ton. “The price that began to rise was influenced by the diminishing Indonesian and Malaysian palm oil stocks while the global market demands began to wriggle,” said Executive Director of the Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs Association (GAPKI), Mukti Sardjono, Friday (1/3/2019), Jakarta.

This thing is also influenced by the mandatory expansion of 20 percent biodiesel (B20) to non-PSO since it was implemented in September 2018 and continues to run consistently with the trend that tends to increase. At the beginning of this year, the absorption of biodiesel in the country reached 552 thousand tons, rise up 9% compared to December 2018 which only reached 507 thousand tons.

At the beginning of 2019, the Government plans to conduct B30 mixing trials, it is expected that the results of this B30 trial can accelerate the B30 mandatory program so that absorption of domestic palm oil can be boosted higher

JAKARTA – Industri sawit mulai bangkit dari keterpurukan karena rendahnya harga CPO global yang mencapai harga rata-rata terendah sejak Agustus 2006. Harga CPO global mulai merangkak naik, tercatat harga CPO global pada Januari 2019 bergerak antara US$ 520 – 542.50/ton dengan harga rata-rata US$ 530,7/ton.

Sebelumnya pada Desember 2018, harga CPO global bergerak di kisaran US$ 470 – 507,50/ton dengan harga rata-rata US$ 490,5/ton. “Harga yang mulai bergeliat ini dipengaruhi stok minyak sawit Indonesia dan Malaysia yang mulai menipis dan permintaan pasar global yang mulai bergeliat,” kata Direktur Eksekutif Gabungan Pengusaha Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (GAPKI), Mukti Sardjono, Jumat (1/3/2019), di Jakarta.

Hal tersebut juga dipengaruhi oleh perluasan mandatori biodiesel 20 persen (B20) kepada non-PSO sejak diberlakukan September 2018 terus berjalan secara konsisten dengan trend yang cenderung meningkat. Pada awal tahun ini, penyerapan biodiesel di dalam negeri mencapai 552 ribu ton atau naik 9% dibandingkan Desember 2018 yang hanya mencapai 507 ribu ton.

Di awal tahun 2019 ini Pemerintah berencana untuk melakukan uji coba pencampuran B30, diharapkan hasil uji coba B30 ini dapat mengakselerasi program mandatori B30 sehingga penyerapan minyak sawit di dalam negeri dapat digenjot lebih tinggi.
