The oil palm plantation and processing industry is a key industry for the Indonesian economy, the export of palm oil is one of the important foreign exchange earners. Palm oil is the most important industry in Indonesia which contributes between 1.5 – 2.5 percent of total gross domestic product (GDP).

The Indonesian palm oil industry has regained its rhythm in the global vegetable oil market, recorded in January 2019 the export of palm oil from Indonesia continues to increase. Throughout this January, the export volume of Indonesian palm oil (CPO and its derivatives, oleochemicals and Biodiesel) was recorded to increase by 4% compared to last December 2018, or increased from 3.13 million tons to 3.25 million tons.

The Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs Association (GAPKI) released the performance of exports of crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivatives and absorption of domestic biodiesel at the beginning of this year.

“Exports in January consist of CPO around 746.06 thousand tons or around 23% of the total export volume and the remaining 77% are derivative products or processed from CPO. This global market stretch was mainly supported by demand from several non-traditional markets which increased significantly, “said Executive Director of the Indonesian Palm Oil Entrepreneurs Association (GAPKI), Mukti Sardjono, Friday (1/3/2019).

Industri perkebunan dan pengolahan sawit adalah industri kunci bagi perekonomian Indonesia, ekspor minyak kelapa sawit adalah salah satu penghasil devisa yang penting. minyak sawit merupakan industri terpenting di Indonesia yang menyumbang di antara 1,5 – 2,5 persen terhadap total produk domestik bruto (PDB).

Industri minyak kelapa sawit Indonesia kembali mendapatkan ritmenya di pasar minyak nabati global, tercatat pada Januari 2019 ekspor minyak sawit asal Indonesia terus  meningkat. Sepanjang Januari ini, volume ekspor minyak sawit Indonesia (CPO dan turunannya, oleokimia dan Biodiesel) tercatat naik 4% dibandingkan dengan Desember 2018 lalu, atau meningkat dari 3,13 juta ton menjadi 3,25 juta ton.

Gabungan Pengusaha Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (Gapki) merilis kinerja ekspor minyak sawit mentah (crude palm oil/CPO) dan turunannya serta penyerapan biodiesel dalam negeri pada awal tahun ini .

“Ekspor di bulan Januari ini terdiri CPO sekitar 746,06 ribu ton atau sekitar 23% dari total volume ekspor dan sisanya 77% merupakan produk turunan atau olahan dari CPO. Geliat pasar global ini terutama didukung oleh demand dari beberapa pasar non tradisional yang meningkat cukup signifikan,” kata Direktur Eksekutif Gabungan Pengusaha Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (GAPKI), Mukti Sardjono, Jumat (1/3/2019).
